'Big Bang Theory's Melissa Rauch plays racy role in 'The Bronze'

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- Viewers get to see a different side to one star of "The Big Bang Theory," Melissa Rauch, as she is cast for a racy and risque role in the movie "The Bronze."

Rauch plays Hope Annabelle Gregory, a big star of the 2004 Olympic Games. But when her Achilles is done, so is the gymnast's career.

The ex-athlete then heads home to Ohio with her bronze medal and milks it for all it's worth.

So she doesn't lose out on a big inheritance, the foul-mouthed gymnast is forced to teach her talents to the new prodigy in town.

"The Bronze" is rated R for strong sexual content, graphic nudity, language throughout and some drug use.

"If you're someone who likes irreverent comedy with heart, don't bring your kids but come and laugh, and come along for the ride with us," Rauch said.

Gary Cole, another star in the film, said the lead character's attitude is what makes the movie.

"I just loved the idea of this kind of faded diva, somebody that's a diva but really has absolutely no reason to be at the moment," he said.

Rauch said her parents will finally see the film next week.

"I was actually thinking about putting a GoPro or some sort of camera on them while they're watching the sex scene to get their faces," she said. "They've been warned. They've been fully warned."

Actor Sebastian Stan said he's looking forward to the public's reaction.

"The scene in the script was written as the greatest, fiercest, best, most insane, dangerous gymnastics sex scene ever," he said. "That's how they wrote it, and I think we delivered it."

The public will get to see if "The Bronze" strikes gold when it hits theaters March 18.
