PASADENA, Calif. (KABC) -- All lanes on a short stretch of the westbound 210 Freeway in Pasadena will be closed during the weekend as part of a repavement project.

The 55-hour closure started at 10 p.m. Friday and is set to end by 5 a.m. Monday. The freeway is shut between Lake Avenue and Mountain Street, along with the eastbound ramp from the 134 Freeway to the westbound 210.

Along the 210 Freeway, the Marengo Avenue and Mountain Street offramps will also be closed as well as the Walnut Street onramp. The same stretch of freeway will be shut down again on the weekend of July 29 through Aug. 1.

The closures are part of a $148.5 million pavement rehabilitation project for both directions of the freeway in the cities of Glendale, La Canada Flintridge and Pasadena, according to Caltrans.

Completion of the project is expected in 2018.
