Metro expected to vote on raising fares
The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority board is expected to vote Thursday morning on a plan to raise fares for buses and trains.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- In the next two years, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority is expected to face a $36.8 million operating deficit. Without a fare increase, that number could jump to $225 million in a decade, officials said.

The board is expected to vote Thursday on raising fares. If approved, fares could go up as early as September.
