2015 US Open of Surfing competition heats up at finals

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- Excitement is building as the 2015 U.S. Open of Surfing wraps up with final competition rounds this weekend.

Tens of thousands of people are expected to flock to Huntington Beach for the last days of the world's largest surfing competition finals.

The 2015 Vans U.S. Open of Surfing also includes skating and BMX competitions.

"This is truly the epicenter of action sports on the planet. This is the destination for surfing, for skateboarding and for BMX," said Doug Palladini, general manager of Vans North America.
