Best Buy employees talk about Christmas surprise-gone-viral for boy at NY store

VALLEY STREAM, N.Y. -- The employees at a Long Island Best Buy store, who showed off their holiday spirit by buying a video game system for a boy who often visited the store, are talking about their good deed.

According to employees, the boy comes in every day and plays the Wii U up to "three hours sometimes."

In the video below, which has gone viral since it was posted two weeks ago by store manager Rahiem Storr, an employee is seen approaching the boy and presenting the $300 gift.

Employees at a Best Buy decided to chip in to buy a Wii U for a child after they noticed he was coming into the store daily to play the free display.

"On behalf of all of us here at Best Buy, we got you a Wii U so you don't have to come here every day and play," the employee said

Employees said the boy was speechless and could be seen shedding a tear.

"No for real, this is for you. Consider it an early Christmas present," the employee said.

The employees also bought him the Super Smash Bros. game and one of them even drove him home to make sure he made it there safely with the console.

"I just saw a bit of myself in him," Storr said, "Because when I was a kid, I used to also come to a lot of the stores. My mom, she really couldn't afford some of the stuff herself. If we're able to give him something, why not?"

The employees don't know much about the boy, but said he still comes back to the store and they are always happy to see him.
