Las Vegas police search for suspects in 'road rage' shooting

LAS VEGAS (KABC) -- A manhunt is underway for suspects wanted in a case of extreme road rage that ended in the shooting death of a mother of four in Las Vegas.

Police released a sketch of one of the suspects, as well as surveillance video of what they believe is the suspects' car.

Tammy Meyers was gunned down in front of her home on Thursday. The 44-year-old was on her way home around 11:30 p.m. after giving her teenage daughter, who was in the car with her, driving lessons.

"There's no woman like her, and I'm going to miss her," said Robert Meyers, Tammy's husband.

Meyers' 19-year-old son Matt told ABC News that his mother was traveling the one-mile drive home from the area where she was teaching his sister how to drive. He said his mother was going the 25 mph speed limit, and the car behind her grew annoyed and side-swiped the passenger's side of their car.

Police say Meyers and the driver got into an argument. Meyers drove away, but the driver of the sedan followed her, searched several neighborhoods before tracking her and her daughter down at their home.

"The suspects arrived at the residence and began shooting at them," said Lt. Patricia Spencer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Meyers was struck by the gunfire in her own front yard. She was taken off life support on Saturday.

Her son Brandon, who witnessed the shooting, fired his own gun at the vehicle as it drove off. The suspects' car likely sustained damage from the gunfire.

"She has a 15-year-old daughter who will never have a mother to get her ready for her prom, a mother to watch her get married," said Susan Ramos, Robert Meyers' cousin.

Meyers' family is now pleading for justice. A vigil is planned for Tuesday at the parking lot where Meyers was teaching her daughter how to drive.
