It's not just lawmakers reacting to the removal of chief Crowley. Communities that were impacted by the deadly Palisades Fire also reacted to the news.
Marc Hofman lived in his Pacific Palisades home for 26 years before he lost everything. He said even with the mayor taking a trip to Africa, more could have been done to prepare.
"At the very least you should have everyone on guard," said Hofman. "I just don't feel like there was really a lot of communication. And you know, you can fire your fire chief, but that doesn't solve the problem."
Mark Nellis lives in the Pacific Palisades. He said the decision to terminate Crowley does not change his current situation.
"To me, it doesn't make me feel any better. It doesn't give me any closure. I lost my home," said Nellis. "I lost my possessions that I brought from the UK 18 months ago. Including 2,000 very rare vinyl records by David Bowie. A lot of them were signed."
