2 bald eagle babies born at DC's National Arboretum

WASHINGTON (KABC) -- America's most famous bald eagles seem happy and busy after a second eaglet hatched Sunday morning at the National Arboretum in Washington, D.C.

The first eaglet, temporarily named DC2, was born just a day before its sibling.

This morning's adorable newborn, DC3, started hatching Saturday morning and then emerged around 3 a.m. Sunday, the American Eagle Foundation said.

The proud eagle parents, named Mr. President and The First Lady, fed both newborns just hours later.

A livestream of the eagle family and the hatchings has been viewed 7 million times since the website launched on Feb. 15.

The public is expected to get to vote on the newborns' official names in the next few weeks. Early suggestions on social media have ranged from "Sasha and Malia" to "Cherry and Blossoms."
