Description:

* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 5 to 8 feet are expected today and tonight, with local sets to 9 feet. High surf will slowly subside Saturday morning. There is a high risk of dangerous rip currents through Saturday.

* WHERE...Ventura County Beaches.

* WHEN...Until noon PST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...There is an increased risk for ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Large breaking waves can cause injury, wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats near shore.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There may be some nuisance to minor coastal flooding on exposed west-facing beaches a couple of hours on either side of the high tide Saturday morning. High tide Saturday morning is around 830 AM PST.
