Popocatepetl spews ash and smoke near Mexico City

The Popocatepetl volcano in Central Mexico erupted Sunday night 50 miles southeast of Mexico City.

Several videos have been posted to the YouTube channel webcamsdemexico showing Popocatepetl spewing ash and smoke throughout early 2016.

Mexico's National Disaster Prevention Centre has created a 7.5-mile safety radius around the volcano.
