BIG BEAR, Calif. (KABC) -- The storm brought a fresh coat of snow to Southern California mountains Friday. In Big Bear, between three to five inches of snow has fallen.
The snow is a welcome sight for the mountain community. Snow Summit ski resort says it has six to 18 inches of snow up on the slopes.
"It is exactly what we've been hoping for. To get a little help from Mother Nature is a bonus for us," said Chris Riddle, vice president of marketing for Big Bear Mountain Resorts.
"This literally will be the difference between life and death for a lot of businesses up here, especially the new guys," said Eric Schwartz, owner of Get The Burger.
Wrightwood also received fresh snow from the storm. Mountain High reported getting six to eight inches of powder, and their snow-making machines are adding even more.

Chains are required along highways 18 and 330 for all vehicles except four-wheel drive vehicles that have snow tires on all four wheels.
Authorities say drivers can expect delays because of snow and road maintenance that's expected to continue through next week.
