Minor leg injures may be cause of clots

Minor leg injuries may be a major cause of blood clots in veins according to researchers in the Netherlands.Scientists studied more than 2,400 patients who had blood clots, and more than 3,500 others who did not. They found of those who had a blood clot, 289 had a minor leg injury that did not require surgery, while only about four who did not have a blood clot had some minor injury to the leg.

The study is in the Archives of Internal Medicine.
