Missing Lancaster man found dead

Man died from injuries sustained in crash

LANCASTER The body of 55-year-old Karl Esswein was discovered Friday after a deputy noticed collision damage on a bridge crossing the California aqueduct.

The deputy called in a search and rescue team, which found a submerged car near 235th street and Avenue D.

Esswein was inside.

Authorities say it appears he died from injuries suffered in the crash.
