Mixing medication could be dangerous

University of Chicago researchers analyzed data from 3,000 seniors.

In one out of 25 cases, mixing drugs could prove dangerous. Examples of bad mixes are: Niacin and statins. They increase the odds of muscle weakness.

Also ginkgo biloba and aspirin raise the risk for internal bleeding.

Researchers say patients must tell their doctors about all the pills they're taking.
