Get up early, get pet spayed for free

L.A. Councilman Richard Alarcon says the city is offering the free service to the first 115 dog or cats brought to the /*Mission Hills Animal Shelter*/ by 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning. The one-day event is being sponsored to remind L.A. residents of a new ordinance that requires most dogs and cats be sterilized by the time they're four months old.

The Mission Hills Animal Shelter is located on the 15,000 block of Brand Avenue in Mission Hills.
