Doctor claims Jackson asked for drug

LOS ANGELES This doctor treated Jackson for many years, up until 2003, then it was another six years before Jackson came back to him. He says Jackson was very specific about his request.

Jackson was facing a grueling schedule of performances.

He told several medical providers what he needed by name last spring, and it wasn't a pill but an anesthesia.

"Well he asked for this anesthesia, and Dr. Metzger told him it's dangerous, it could be life-threatening," said attorney Harland Braun.

Braun represents Metzger, whose name is among several appearing on a search warrant served on the offices of Jackson's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray.

Investigators want to know if Jackson obtained the drugs through multiple doctors using 19 fake names.

Braun said aliases for high-profile patients are not unusual. Doctors do it deliberately to keep personal information out of the public eye.

"Doctors are in a very difficult position because they're pledged to protect the privacy of patients, and they go to extreme lengths to protect the patients' privacy, and then when you write a prescription, it goes to a drug store, where any clerk could sell it to the news media," Braun said.

The results of Jackson's toxicology tests are on hold. One possible reason for the move is investigators don't want to disclose information that could taint potential witnesses or defendants.

"You're still questioning doctors and people and looking at records, and you don't want a public story out there so people can adjust their versions according to the lab reports," Braun said.

Investigators are questioning whether Murray gave Jackson propofol outside accepted medical practices.

Another question is whether Murray was motivated by money. The latest tally of his finances shows he was $780,000 in debt.

In the meantime, there is a growing debate involving a child Jackson may have fathered 25 years ago.

Omer Bhatti sat with the Jackson family at the memorial service. Joe Jackson says now he was aware Michael Jackson had another son.

Earlier this month, Jermaine Jackson said that Bhatti would be welcomed into the family if there is scientific proof he is a family member.

A British newspaper reports that Bhatti is seeking a DNA test.
