LOS ANGELES --
Owners of T-Mobile Sidekick phones may have lost all the personal information they put on the device, because of a massive hardware failure. The information includes contact phone numbers, digital photos and calendars.
It's unclear why, but the servers that store the data failed.
Engineers are working to try to retrieve the personal information from a backup system.
T-Mobile is advising customers not to reset their phones.
The phones are made by a Microsoft subsidiary.
