LOS ANGELES Laron Lee Larrimore was convicted in April of one count of second-degree murder and one count of attempted murder.

Co-defendant, Jonathan Banks, 20, was tried separately and convicted last month of one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 15.

In September 2006, prosecutors say Larrimore and Banks were shouting gang slogans as Cesar Avila and his two daughters were returning home to Baldwin Village.

They say Banks jumped out of the car, driven by Larrimore, and shot at Avila and wounded him. They also say Banks then returned to Avila's car and shot and killed 3-year-old Kaitlyn Avila. Her 6-year-old sister was not hurt n the shooting.
