Wrongly convicted man sues Los Angeles, LAPD

LOS ANGELES Bruce Lisker, now 44-years-old, was convicted of murdering his mother in Sherman Oaks in 1983.

But this summer, a federal judge overturned Lisker's conviction, saying it was made based on false evidence and insufficient legal representation. Lisker was released from prison in August.

Lisker's federal lawsuit alleges that police framed him. It claims his civil rights were violated by the city of Los Angeles and the LAPD.

He is seeking undisclosed damages.

The city has not commented on the lawsuit.
