Man tries to grab girl from Palos Verdes school

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif. Authorities say a 5th-grade student was walking out of the girls bathroom in the southeast portion of the Mira Catalina Elementary School campus at about 12:15 p.m. when a male grabbed her arm. The girl managed to get away and run back to her class.

The male suspect ran away in an unknown direction. He was described as white, between 25 and 30 years old, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a thin build and spiky brown hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt and beige shorts.

Deputies with K-9 units conducted an extensive search of the school and the surrounding area with the help of a helicopter.
