NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. --The City Attorney for Newport Beach is going on voluntary administrative leave following his arrest on suspicion of spousal abuse.David Hunt was arrested at his Santa Ana home on March 14 after he was accused of hitting his wife. Police said he was arguing with his son when his wife tried to intervene. She was taken to a local hospital for a cut on her arm and a bump on her head.
The Newport Beach City Council has approved Hunt's request to take a paid administrative leave. No word yet on whether criminal charges will be filed.
