Trying to stay healthy? Go ahead and eat bacon and eggs for breakfast, says one study from the University of Alabama.Researchers say starting out your day with a high fat breakfast may actually ward off metabolic syndrome. That includes conditions like obesity, high cholesterol and diabetes.
They found that mice fed a meal high in fat after waking up had normal metabolisms, compared to mice that ate high fat meals at the end of the day instead. Those mice gained weight, developed diabetes and other problems.
The study is published in the current International Journal of Obesity.
