Glendale considers bridge to Griffith Park

GLENDALE, Calif. Glendale officials want to connect the city with /*Griffith Park*/ by building a new pedestrian bridge over the /*5 Freeway*/.

The city council is expected to consider design options for the proposed pedestrian bridge in coming months to help parks officials secure grant funding for the project.

If funded, the bridge would be included as a later phase of the long-awaited /*Glendale Narrows Riverwalk*/, along the /*Los Angeles River*/, which is slated to break ground this summer.

Residents from Glendale, Burbank and Atwater Village, including local equestrians and bicyclists, have also expressed support for the proposed bridge.

Cost estimates for the proposed bridge range from $2 million to $30 million, depending on the design
