Santa Ana man charged with wife's murder

SANTA ANA, Calif. The suspect is identified as 55-year-old Agustin Armaraz Espinoza.

He is accused of killing his wife, 53-year-old Marisela Espinoza, on or about July 29 after she asked him to move out.

Investigators say she had discovered that Espinoza had gambled away $100,000 in pension money and was having an extra-marital affair.

Police say Espinoza left his wife's body in their bedroom before driving to Mexico. Along the way, investigators say, he tried to use his wife's debit card.

Marisela's Espinoza's body was found in her /*Santa Ana*/ home on North Right Street on Friday.

Espinoza was arrested while re-entering the United States from /*Mexico*/.

If convicted, Espinoza faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in state prison.

He is being held on $1 million bail and is subject to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold.

Marisela Espinoza's cause of death is pending.
