Rare Navy Helldiver found in SD reservoir

A Navy Helldiver from World War II was pulled out of the Otay Reservoir in San Diego County, from when it crashed during a practice run in 1945.

A rare dive bomber from World War II has been pulled out of a reservoir in San Diego County.The Navy Helldiver crashed into the Otay Reservoir during a practice run in 1945.

Both crew members swam to safety.

A fisherman discovered the aircraft last year, while he was using an underwater fish finder.

There are only a few of the Helldivers still in existence.

This one will be restored and put on display at the Naval Museum in Pensacola, Fla.
