Bolton rehearses for 'Dancing' while on tour

LOS ANGELES Singer /*Michael Bolton*/ decided the time was right to step out of his comfort zone and Waltz into season 11 of "/*Dancing With the Stars*/."

He's not making it easy on himself. Bolton's in the midst of a major concert tour. So he's brought his pro partner, /*Chelsie Hightower*/, out on the road with him.

"I introduce her and I bring her up on stage," said Bolton. "We talk about the show, and everybody goes nuts when I say I'm on the show. I tell them to make sure they vote. She is beloved, you can't not love Chelsie. And when it comes time to work, she shifts into another gear and that is where you see all of the discipline. That is why she is so great."

Bolton's own discipline will be tested on Monday. Not only is it the first night of "Dancing With the Stars," but right after the show he's performing a free concert at The Grove.

"I'll have to do rehearsal, then the show, the blocking, the show and then the concert. It should be interesting," said Bolton. "I probably should have lost another 4 pounds."

But the hectic Monday schedule is all for a good cause. Bolton is part of the Be Aware Foundation's "Songs For Cancer," a concert benefiting breast cancer research and awareness.

"I don't know anybody who hasn't been affected by cancer," said Bolton.
