UC Irvine students break dodgeball record

September 23, 2010 12:00:00 AM PDT
Hundreds of UC Irvine student-athletes and coaches staged the world's largest dodgeball game ever on Wednesday.

They pelted each other with 600 balls flying between blue and gold teams.

The players were out to break the world record held by a group in Alberta, Canada.

They accomplished that feat smashing the previous record of 1,198 participants with 1,745.
