Nude burglar arrested; found hiding under bed

WESTMINSTER, Calif. Westminster Police Officer Van Woodson says Edgar Antonio Lucha of Westminster was arrested at a Compton drug rehabilitation center. He was booked for investigation of burglary, indecent exposure and attempted lewd acts on a child.

Officers received a call early Saturday morning about a nude intruder in a home in the 6000 block of Shawnee Road.

"The man told officers he and his son had swapped bedrooms for the night, so he had been sleeping in his 10-year-old son's bed," Woodson said. During the night, the father sensed the bed moving. When he looked under the bed, the father discovered the intruder.

The intruder pulled on his pants and repeatedly apologized, claiming he was high on drugs. He then took off. Investigators say he used a ladder to get into the house through an unlocked second-story window.

Westminster Police tracked him down through a fingerprint found in the bedroom that matched Lucha's fingerprints on record. Lucha was arrested without incident.
