Woman killed in West LA hit-run

LOS ANGELES The accident occurred around 9 pm on Centinela Avenue near Nebraska Avenue in front of 60-year-old Rossi Shareef's home.

Police say Shareef had just gotten out of her Honda parked on the west side of Centinela Avenue just north of Nebraska when she was struck by an unknown vehicle. The driver fled the scene and Shareef was taken to a hospital where she died from her injuries.

Neighborhood residents say the stretch of Centinela Avenue is very dangerous because drivers are often speeding.

"It's a nightmare to get across Centinela because people are rushing to try to get to make the light so that they can get home from work," said resident Vicki Andersen.

Police asked anyone with information to call 877-LAPD-24-7. They are looking for a sedan, possibly some type of Honda.
