According to The Hollywood Reporter, the rap star is set to star in a crime thriller called, "Random Acts of Violence."
Eminem's publicist confirmed to The Associated Press that the Grammy- and Oscar-winning performer could be in the film but that "nothing was set in stone."
The publicist said a start date was not finalized.
Eminem hasn't starred in a film since 2002's "8 Mile." His latest record, "Recovery," was the top-seller for 2010.
