Stretching before may not prevent injury

LOS ANGELES

A new study showed that might not be the case. Researchers studied more than 2,700 runners. Half were told to stretch before running, half were told not to.

After three months, there was no difference in injury rates between those who stretched and those who didn't.

However critics of the study said people who are used to running may not need to stretch, but they still advise new runners to do some sort of warm up.
