"It went from like 100 families to 200. So, we're really helping a lot. It makes you feel great. You get a tingling after," said Mikey.
When most of his peers are probably asleep, like at 6 a.m. on a weekend, Mikey can be counted on.
"I just realize the impact I'm doing for people. So, I want to go down there and help them. I fight through the sleep and go down and help," he said.
A sophomore at Kennedy High School, Mikey is looking forward to college and continuing his service.
"I'm looking into state, I'm looking at private colleges. So, whatever pans out, I just hope that I can continue during the summers or whenever I have time," said Mikey.
He values the idea of everyone helping each other.
"You need a sense of community that way you know someone is always out there looking out for you. We have neighbors that have our backs, so if we need help they can help us," said Mikey.
