The DEA, along with LAPD and the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department raided two clinics on the 7800 and 8400 blocks of Santa Monica Boulevard at about 2:10 p.m. One person was taken into custody.
In January 2007, the DEA conducted simultaneous raids on 11 L.A.-area dispensaries, five of which were in West Hollywood.
The Obama administration decided two years ago to take a hands-off approach to dispensaries that abide by state laws. Possession of marijuana is still a felony under federal law.
