Defense for Jackson doctor seeks trial delay

LOS ANGELES

A lawyer for Dr. Conrad Murray said Friday the defense needs more time to line up expert witnesses to rebut new prosecution experts.

Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor did not immediately rule on the oral motion but instructed attorneys Murray to file a formal motion by Sunday afternoon.

Murray is accused of involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death.

The trial is set to begin next month.
