Santa Monica bar assault leaves man in critical condition

Police released sketches of a man and woman believed to be involved in an assault that left a man in critical condition.

Police have released composite sketches of a man and woman believed to be involved in an assault that left a man hospitalized in critical condition.

Police say the victim was intoxicated when he was involved in an altercation with a man outside O'Brien's Irish Pub & restaurant in Santa Monica on May 6.

The man pushed the victim to the ground where he hit his head, causing major head trauma. The suspect is described as a Black male, between 25 and 30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall with a muscular or stocky build, wearing a white shirt and dark jeans.

The suspect was in the company of a Caucasian female, mid to late 20's, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 130 pounds, with long blond hair in a ponytail, wearing a light colored blouse with colored pants. Police say she's not a suspect but they are trying to identify her.
