Tuesday, the L.A. City Council is expected to finalize a plan to raise taxi rates. The changes would include:
- A drop charge of $2.65 for the first one-ninth of a mile.
- 30 cents for each additional one-ninth of a mile.
- Passenger surcharges would increase to $4 per trip at Los Angeles International Airport.
- A cab ride from downtown L.A. to /*LAX*/ would cost $46.50.
