A second suspect was arrested Monday in the investigation of a March murder in Fontana.

San Bernardino Sheriff's deputies from the Fontana station responded to a shooting near Sequoia and Beech avenues. A man suffering a gunshot wound was transported to Kaiser Hospital in Fontana. The man, 18-year-old Fontana resident Juan Macias Jr., was pronounced dead shortly after being admitted.

On April 14, 26-year-old Fontana resident Candido Marin was arrested for warrants for DUI and possession of narcotics. Detectives determined during the homicide investigation of Macias that Marin was a suspect. Marin was arrested April 15 on suspicion of the murder of Macias.

Further investigation led to 24-year-old Fontana resident Michael Thompson. Thompson responded to an interview request from sheriff's deputies and arrived at sheriff's headquarters. At the end of the interview, Thompson was booked on suspicion of murder at West Valley Detention Center.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is urged to contact Detective David Johnson at (909) 387-3589.
