Chris Jeon's friend, Cody Soto, told the Daily Bruin that Jeon came up with the Libya plan during a late-night dinner several months ago.
Last month, Jeon asked for a ride to /*Los Angeles International Airport*/ with a one-way ticket to Libya in hand.
Soto said Jeon has always loved adventure, but he's shocked his friend took it this far.
He also said Jeon did not go to Libya for attention.
It is not known if Jeon is still among the rebels who are trying to overthrow Libyan leader /*Moammar Gadhafi*/.
