Suspect charged in Northern California nursing student's death

HAYWARD, Calif.

Giselle Esteban was charged in an Alameda County courtroom Thursday afternoon. Police believe Esteban, a high school friend of Michelle Le, killed Le in a hospital parking garage in Hayward.

Le disappeared from the garage on May 27 and her body has not been found.

Estaban told KABC-TV sister station KGO-TV she hated Le because she was friends with the father of her 5-year-old daughter. Esteban has denied having anything to do with Le's disappearance.

Esteban did not appear in court on Thursday and a new arraignment date has not been set.
