Angeles Forest Highway section to close due to inclement weather

PALMDALE, Calif.

Angeles Forest Highway is scheduled to be closed from Aliso Canyon Road to Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road beginning at 5 a.m. Saturday. Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road will be closed from Angeles Forest Highway to State Route 2 (Angeles Crest Highway).

Access for emergency vehicles and Public Works personnel will be maintained. Access to all others will not be permitted until weather conditions improve, according to the department.

In a statement, the department said Public Works is prepared to keep the parking lot, boarding platform, and access from county highways for the Acton Vincent Metrolink Station facilities open during the forecasted storm.

Public Works is also coordinating with Metrolink to inform the public of the potential for road closures and travel restrictions and encourage Metrolink as an alternative in the event of such closures and restrictions.

Residents, business owners and persons with access or functional needs may also call 211 for L.A. County information and referral services. The toll-free 211 number is available 24 hours a day and seven days a week. 211 LA County Services can also be accessed by visiting www.211la.org

Travelers and area residents can also check Dept. of Public Works C.A.R.E. for updates.
