Body found bound, gagged in Huntington Park vitamin store

HUNTINGTON PARK, Calif.

Huntington Park police said they received several calls Thursday night from the Global Nature vitamin store. It is believed the suspect entered the store through the front entrance, as the back door was found locked. The register's cash drawer was found open, but the amount of money and merchandise taken was unknown.

The woman appeared to be a 30-year-old Latina. Investigators are not releasing her identity until next of kin are notified. They also are not revealing what was used to tie up and gag the woman.

The store owner was on the scene being interviewed by police and looked very distraught. Detectives and police gang unit were also on scene, although they said the killing doesn't appear to be gang-related.

"The business is open, people are walking around from work, the doors are open. It's pretty bold the way the suspect did this," said LAPD Det. Sgt. David Cassidy.

There are no surveillance cameras inside the store, leaving authorities with no video evidence to assist the investigation.
