That is because a San Diego mother filed a lawsuit against the makers of Nutella and won.
She claims the company misled her into thinking that Nutella was a health food and she fed it her 4-year-old daughter.
She took them to court for false advertising. Her suit claimed they falsely promoted Nutella as a healthy breakfast option while omitting the fact that a few tablespoons contain 200 calories, 11 grams of fat and 21 grams of sugar.
The suit has been settled for $3.05 million, of which $2.5 million will be divided among people who bought Nutella between Aug. 1 2009 and Jan. 23 2012 in California.
