Beauty product chemical linked to potential diabetes diagnosis

LOS ANGELES

Phthalates are hormone-disrupting chemicals commonly found in products like soap, nail polish, nail polish remover, hair spray, perfume and moisturizers.

Researchers in Boston found women with high levels of the chemical in their urine were nearly twice as likely to develop diabetes.

However researchers also say the study is far from conclusive and further studies need to be done.
