Police have released a surveillance photo of a person suspected of stabbing a teenager in Santa Monica earlier this month.

They said the suspect stabbed a 19-year-old man without provocation near 4th Street and Santa Monica Boulevard around 6:20 p.m. on Aug. 13.

The victim told police that he and his girlfriend had just left a restaurant on the 300 block of Santa Monica Boulevard when the suspect, who had been walking in front of them, suddenly attacked him. He suffered multiple stab wounds, but his injuries were non-life threatening.

The suspect was described as a man in his 30s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing around 180 pounds. He was wearing a dark-colored painters-type cap, dark t-shirt, dark shorts and dirty white shoes, police said.

Anyone with information was asked to call Santa Monica police at (310) 458-8495.
