Bees attack and kill dog in North Hollywood

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif.

A man who lives in the 11500 block of Cumpston Street says he noticed the bees when workers started cutting down his neighbors tree across the street.

He says the bees swarmed his neighbor's pit bull and killed the pet.

"The bees just dispersed everywhere," the unidentified man said. "Right away, they started attacking the guys cutting the trees down and myself, I was sitting in the driveway, so right away we all just took off and started running. They were chasing us down the street. We got stung a few times. I got stung several times, on the side of my face and on the head."

The witness says the fire department sprayed foam in an effort to kill the bees. But, he says, they couldn't do anything to stop the bees that are still flying around his street.
