Dallas Zoo welcomes 2 cheetah cubs, puppy

DALLAS

The 8-week-old cubs were born at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute in Virginia.

Brothers Kamau and Winspear will join the zoo's Animal Adventures outreach program to help teach the public about highly endangered species.

The zoo has added an 8-week-old black Labrador retriever named Amani to keep the cats company and be a calming influence for them.

"They'll be together 24/7, and they'll really forage a very tight relationship, just like the two cheetah siblings have," said Sean Greene, vice president of guest experiences at the Dallas Zoo.

The cheetahs are expected to grow to 3 feet long and weigh 140 pounds.
