The Grasshopper rocket from SpaceX has taken another leap forward.

The reusable Grasshopper rocket completed its highest leap on Oct. 7, rising to 2400 feet in the air before returning safely to the ground.

SpaceX says it's hoping to kick start a new era in space travel where rockets land safely and are reused instead of burning up on re-entry.
