FULLERTON, Calif.

La Mirada resident Rocael Gomez, 48, allegedly touched an unidentified 51-year-old woman during a medical exam on her breasts and other parts of her body. Gomez is accused of digitally penetrating the woman and sexually touching the victim under the pretense of legitimate medical necessity, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

The incident occurred on January 4. The woman reported it to Anaheim Police later that day.

At the time of the crime, Gomez was a physician's assistant at the Anaheim Market Clinic, where the incident took place; as well as at Bansuan Medical Clinic in El Monte.

If convicted on all counts, Gomez faces a maximum sentence of nine years in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration.

Gomez is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Fullerton.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with additional information or who believes they have been a victim is encouraged to contact Supervising District Attorney Investigator Paul Carvo at (714) 347-8794.
