It all happened around 3 a.m. near Western Avenue and 122nd Street.
Investigators initially thought the man died following a hit-and-run. But when the man was rushed to the hospital, the medical team realized he had been shot at least two times, prior to being hit by a vehicle.
The driver didn't stop after striking the man with his vehicle.
The victim later died at the hospital.
No arrests have been made.
