According to sister station WABC in New York, police said the scuffle happened because the photographer was blocking the sidewalk after Worthington and his girlfriend left a Greenwich Village bar Sunday evening. The photographer then kicked the woman as the couple tried to pass.
Worthington then allegedly punched the man in the face.
The Australian actor was released on bail. He is due back in court on Feb. 26.
The photographer, 37-year-old Sheng Li, was arrested on charges of reckless endangerment, assault and harassment. He's being held pending arraignment.
